It is recognised that additional work has been undertaken by Southend-on-Sea Borough Council to identify opportunity sites with the potential to deliver additional housing supply within the Southend Central Area, over and above that initially proposed in the Core Strategy. This is welcomed by Basildon Borough Council in terms of meeting housing needs arising within the South Essex Housing Market Area.
